Via Francigena Diary

A day-by-day account of encounters, emotions, and unexpected events

The Travel Journal

During my journey, I kept a daily journal to record events, names, encounters, challenges, and emotions. Each day was unique and worth remembering.

Writing in my journal at the end of each day became a personal ritual. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical during my first walk to Santiago, but as I continued and completed various walks, I realized how helpful it is to pause and reflect with some distance on events, my own behavior, and emotions, discovering aspects of myself, from strengths to vulnerabilities.

Being able to reread those pages later always makes me smile and helps me relive the most powerful experiences.

Unforgettable moments

Some moments that defined my journey:

These are just some of the episodes that made this journey magical and unforgettable, ranging from simple moments to more intense, memorable ones. Each episode contributed to making this experience unique, enriching, and fulfilling, going beyond just the kilometers traveled.

From my experience, I can tell you that it doesn’t matter how long the journey is, how old you are when you set out, or where you do it. When approached with the right spirit, it can be a truly wonderful experience. That's what has happened to me on every journey I've taken.

Have a great journey!!!
